Railton does it again.

Railton with a killer quote from the foreword of The Warrior's Library Book 17:

No degree of spiritual liberty, no separation from the world, no wearing of any uniform, no activities will of themselves protect you from the Devil's ceaseless effort to lessen your faith, to keep you silent and content whilst yielding to worldly influences that may creep into your very home. If you really want to become useful to God and your fellow-men, you must so live under His guidance as to resist, at any cost of fellowship, even, perhaps, with members of your own family, the first hidden attacks of the enemy.

When we begin to live it out in a hard-core way, you will find that friends and family my shrink. All of a sudden, you are not invited to do the things all the other Christians do.

Help us Lord to stand out and stand strong.

Not like any I've ever heard

OK, so I don't normally blog twice in one week let alone in one night, but...

I TiVo-ed a dateline NBC episode from this week and watched it tonight. The subject was "Dealing with the Devil." It was about exorcisms and snake-handlers. Pretty fair and balanced. Then one of the greatest comments in the history of dateline was spoken by a reporter while visiting a snake-handling church in Alabama.

He said,

The music there was not like any I have ever heard before. It was a cross between Salvation Army and Acid Rock.

Hmmm??? I just want you to take a second and think about how that would sound. Now, just begin close your eyes, raise your hands and worship.

Front Row Seats

So the General and Commissioner Larson get a front row seat at the papal inauguration.

Here are the General's comments.

“The Sunday morning worship was a very inspiring and moving occasion,” said General Larsson. “I was struck by the history and beauty of the location and the sheer joy and freedom of the estimated half a million congregation. The Pope preached a powerful, Christ-centered address using simple gospel imagery. It was pastoral and evangelical. And it was interrupted by applause again and again.”

So I re-read John 17. Unity is coming! The Harvest is the end of the Age!

270 Congressmen save some lives.

Yesterday 270 Congressmen here in the US voted to save some lives. Here is a line from the New York Times (don't worry, I'm not a regular reader of it).

The House passed a bill on Wednesday making it a federal crime for any adult to transport an under-age girl across state lines to have an abortion without the consent of her parents. A vote on a similar bill is expected in the Senate later this spring or early this summer, and backers says its chances are good.

A change of law is good but I would rather a change of hearts.

Praise to God who is hearing our prayers for the life of the unborn!

Traditional Ways Must Be Questioned

I was listening to one of the web preaches from armybarmy and wrote this down:

TRADITIONAL WAYS MUST BE QUESTIONED, CHERISHED IDEAS MAY HAVE TO PASS AWAY, BROODING ON PAST VICTORIES WILL ONLY STULTIFY THE PRESENT, BUT PROPHETIC LEADERSHIP WILL LEARN WHAT IS THE “NEW THING” GOD WANTS THE ARMY TO DO, AND HAVE THE COURAGE TO DO IT. GENERAL EVA BURROWS (R)

ISAIAH 43:19 says this: "Be alert, be present. I'm about to do something brand-new. It's bursting out! Don't you see it?"

Do your new thing God!

Sounds Like Revival is Coming

Here are a couple of good quotes:

From Phil Wall or Russ Rook?

"This is a pilgrimage I very much desired to make ... a pilgrimage, so to speak, to the roots of the mission,"

From Stephen Court or Geoff Ryan?

"The Church is by its very nature missionary, its first task is evangelization," he said. "At the start of the third millennium, the Church feels with renewed vigor that the missionary mandate from Christ is more current than ever."

No..... Pope Benedict XVI

2 More Popes

I remembered reading this a few years ago and thought it might be appropriate to share. It is from Rick Joyners book, "The Harvest."

Rick writing:
In 1992 I was given the understanding that there would be two more significant popes over the Roman Catholic Church. There may be more but I was only shown two, both of which were very significant. The first pope that I saw became enraged against evangelical and charismatic Catholics, driving multitudes of them from the church. This pope sought to increase the political prestige and power of the church by intrigue but ultimately brought great humiliation.

After this pope I saw another who was a true lover of God and the whole body of Christ. The spirit of Josiah was upon him to remove idolatry and false doctrines from the church. This man was humble, just and seemingly fearless in his quest to restore the church to Christ. This man will bring such a revival to the Catholic church that it will have an impact on the entire church, which will esteem him as a true brother. He will be cut off at the height of the revival and the whole world will mourn for him. Though I saw these two popes in this sequence I am not certain that their times will come in this order, or if there will not be intervening popes between their reigns.

Take this word and test it. All prophetic words are to be examined against the truth of Scripture, the test of time, and the bearing of fruit.

And if you don't know who Rick Joyner is, let me say that he is a Prophet. God speaks clear things to him for the preparing, warning, and equipping of the body of Christ. This book was written in 1992, it also speaks of a coming extreme Islamic attack on the World Trade Center Towers and the defense system in Washington DC all on the same day. HMMM?

God Bless The Popes!

OBSOLETE

So I am currently writing an essay on The Salvation Army and the issue of Education. Maybe I will blog it or submit it to the JAC for review. But I thought these thoughts were interesting:

The most blunt assessment came from Microsoft chief Bill Gates, who has put more than $700 million into reducing the size of high school classes through the foundation formed by him and his wife, Melinda. "America's high schools are obsolete," Gates said. "By obsolete, I don't just mean that they're broken, flawed or underfunded, though a case could be made for every one of those points. By obsolete, I mean our high schools _ even when they're working as designed _ cannot teach all our students what they need to know today."

From Bill Gates to Martin Luther:

"I advise no one to place their children where the Scriptures do not reign paramount. Every institution in which men are not increasingly occupied with the Word of God must become corrupt…I am much afraid that schools will prove to be the great gates of hell unless they diligently labor in exploring the Holy Scriptures, engraving them in the hearts of the youth."
