BIG STORY COMING...Branding and The Lottery
BIG STORY COMING SHORTLY…DOING THE MOST GOOD?????????
Through some investigative information and research by Joy Mikles and Kelly Pope along with myself, we have uncovered some interesting info about Doing The Most Good.
I just got off the phone with the Georgia State Lottery Commission who verbally verified that we are placing the “Doing the Most Good” branding on Georgia Lottery Tickets.
Hmmm. Scans of the tickets and more verified info coming soon.

Definitely need to wait for the reasoning behind this one.
Under the Flag,
Cadet Aaron Abram

(I do not submit this on behalf of The Salvation Army, Evangeline Booth College, The School for Officer Training, or any other person or entity other than myself, Aaron Abram, a Salvation Army soldier.)
(This should not be consider by anyone as an official statement it is merely an opinion of one individual.)
is there reasoning for it? what reasoning is there?
I still back the officer in Fla. who refused the lottery winnings donation.
Someone obviously approved doing this, thus they have a reason...

Just because a reason exists, doesn't make it a good one-or a valid one for that matter. . .If you ask me, that (having the info on the lottery ticket) is selling out...If I'm being too harsh, I'm sorry, but that's how I feel.....sorry, this is kinda long but O&R for Soldiers, Ch. 7, Sec. 3, Par. 3 - "Gambling. Gambling has developed into a social evil with which the soldier will have nothing to do, in whatever form it appears, whether it be betting on horse-racing, etc., sweepstakes, lotteries, raffles, football pools, bingo and other forms of gambling. Gambling operates on the un-Christian basis of belief in luck and for this reason above all the Salvationist will not gamble. The appeal to the gambling instinct can get such a hold on people that they are led into neglect of their duty to feed and clothe their families, or that they make themselves guilty of dishonesty in order to pay for the stakes etc. At some places of employment some such arrangements are promoted in order to raise money for a charitable purpose. The salvation soldier will make an outright contribution in cash for the same purpose rather than take part in gambling."
Now, in all fairness, I must make a confession - I have taken part in gambling, but after reading this, especially in light of this, God has placed on my heart to not do so anymore...now, I wasn't a really bad gambler - I would only play slots occassionally when I was on a work-related trip and given $ for that purpose.......but, no more....I was tempted to post this anonymously, but I'm posting with my name because I feel I need to in the interests of full disclosure......
Best regards from NY! » »
